What tongues look like after 4 consecutive channel swims 😳
Welcome to another instalment of your favourite Wednesday adventure update. Including some worthwhile long-form reads, short videos and adventure news.
Also, thanks to everyone who emailed me last time about print magazines. Turns out only 8 intrepid magazines went off on an adventure together. Rescue efforts were stood down last week and they are all now safely home.😄
Sarah Thomas swam the channel 4 times! It is 100% worth your time reading her blog-length facebook post after the swim. And to see what being in the sea water that long did to her tongue.
Emily Payne completed the Ring of Steall skyrace for Intrepid Magazine! Here's her pre-race blog about fear and excitement, post race coming out soon. Also, here's a before vs after shot :)
Kate Leeming is a long-distance cyclist whose Breaking the Cycle expeditions have taken her from Africa to the South Pole. https://www.kateleeming.com/
Angela aka The Running Granny is currently running John O'Groats to Lands End, attempting to become the oldest female to do it https://therunninggranny.co.uk/
Mary Truell is 91 years old and walking 91 miles for her local wildlife trust. Short video about it here.
Have you seen Chasing the Sublime? It's a short film about outdoor swimming, featuring the two founders of the Outdoor Swimming Society.
While we're on video... Sarah Williams is currently walking the Camino de Santiago and is vlogging the trip.
Last week, I met the wonderful Mel of This Mum Runs (appropriately enough, on a run). Here's her website: http://www.thismumruns.co.uk/
And there are LOADS of great new features on the Intrepid Magazine blog: https://www.intrepid-magazine.com/blog
