I love running on Kinder Scout in the Peak District. It's quite hard-going to get up there (I usually fast-walk that bit), but then once I've reached some height I really enjoy running along the trails. I recently did a lap of Kinder which is about 13 miles, it's a great route taking in the northern edge and southern edge. There's a few options to come down off the hill too - such as Jacob's Ladder, Crowden Clough, Grindslow Knoll, or down the Nab. I think it's best to run along the Northern Edge first as it's harder going and requires more concentration because of the bogs and rocks. If a whole lap is too much, just a run up the nab, along the top, and down Grindslow Knoll is a wonderful run too - especially at this time of year if you head up at 6pm and watch the sunset like we did last night.

One of my favourites is the Thames Path. I used to run from west Chiswick Bridge to Kew where you have a a sneaky peak at Kew Gardens, and across the river to Sion House. Then onto Richmond with locks and people watching. Then you can cross over the return on the north bank to make it feel like a circular route. It’s so varied!
