Swimming in the dark and walking with camels
Hi Team Intrepid,
Have a little dose of adventure :)
And as always, please: if you blog or vlog or produce any kind of adventure related content, do tell us about it. We love sharing your stories, but sometimes it can be hard to find. We 100% support this kind of “self-promotion” in our Facebook Group. We want to hear your voice and help share it!
ADVENTURE BULLETIN
Alice Morrison is walking across the Atlas mountains of Morocco: from Nador to Ouarzazate. Follow her journey (with her team and 6 camels) on her podcast.
Adventurer Nic is walking home - from Sheffield, where she grew up, to Cockermouth, where she lives now. Follow her journey on Instagram.
Katie Maggs writes about swimming in the dark outdoors (plus tips if you’d like to try it)
Melanie Vogel has just finished hiking the longest recreational trail in the world - The Great Trail across Canada. More info here.
Here’s a lovely story about two Adventure Queens who met in transit from New Zealand and went bikepacking together in the Quantocks.
We last mentioned Rosie Swale Pope in the Adventure Bulletin last year. Well, although her epic UK to Kathmandu in aid of PHASEWorldwide is on hold for the time being, this awesome lady is now running LEJOG and is most of the way there! Follow her on Twitter @RosieSwalePope and read more about her adventures here.
And while we’re on the Jog, Naomi Arnold has just finished cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats in aid of Choose Love and Climate Outreach. Find her here.
In Search of the Woman who Sailed the World by Danielle Clode has just been released. We can only find it for sale (pun intended 😂) in Australia, so if you’re lucky enough to be there you can get a copy here.
QUOTE OF THE WEEK
“No matter how slow you go, you’re still lapping everyone on the couch.” – Unknown
GEAR TESTING
Thanks to those who have applied for gear testing. We’ll be getting in touch with successful testers by the end of the week. If you’re quick, you might still have time to apply (we’re always updating the list so do check back).
At the moment there are softshells, insulated jackets, rucksacks, gloves, trousers, hiking boots and more to review.
Log into the members’ area and visit the Gear Testing page to sign up.
If you haven’t logged in since the new website happened, drop an email to support@intrepid-magazine.com and we’ll get you sorted out.
And that’s all from us today. Have a lovely rest of your week… and stay intrepid!
